Coconut Festival celebrations are synonymous to countries and cities in the world where there is notable coconut production capacity. In this last few decades, the festivals had been staged in places such as Sao Pablo Coconut festivals in the Philippines, Haitian Coconut festivals in China, Hawaii & Cape Kora Coconut festival in the USA, Point Pelican Coconut festival in Caribbean Islands and also in Canada. The festival is commonly used to harness the Economic, cultural and social benefits of this wonder crop.
OBJECTIVES OF THE FESTIVAL
i. To open a window for the investors and financiers towards increasing production and commercialization of the coconut subsector in the State.
ii. To bring the Coconut Industry in Lagos State to the global Stage.
iii. To enhance interaction and knowledge sharing among investors, Coconut value chain actors and the Governments at all levels.
iv. To serve as a platform for the Coconut Stakeholders to showcase their products and Services.
v. To enlighten the citizens of the array of Environmental, Health other benefits and potentials of the Wonder crop.
vi. To preserve the Coconut Heritage of Lagos State.
